Practical advice

Use resistant plants, well adapted to winter conditions (climate zone 3 and below preferably).

Put the right plant in the right place. If we respect, from planting, the information contained on the label at the time of purchase (sun/shade, height and width at maturity), we can avoid inconveniences such as having to change the plant's location, or prune it frequently because it's too cramped.

Prepare the ground: it is as important as the foundation of a house. Before planting: weed, hoe and loosen and add compost and planting soil.
